VB Add File v1.0.5b ------------------- What is VB ADD FILE ------------------- For lack of a better name, VB ADD FILE is just that. It allows you to easily Multi-select a bunch of files to add to your VB Projects. It's designed to let you search out a bunch of, say, VBX's and click on a list of them and then just click the add button and they're in your VB Project! It also supports the ability to read the File Descriptions imbeaded into most VBX files and DLL's so that you can tell what CHSEUD1.VBX really is! Operation --------- I don't think this is a very difficult program to understand so I'm not going into a lot of detail; that's why there's no Windows Help File. Future versions of this program may be even more feature packed and will then probably have a help file. But until then, I think you can figure it out. How to get started ------------------ Launch the ADDFILE.EXE program and also launch the VB.EXE; otherwise this program is essentially useless (not really, but, that's why I wrote this). Now that the program is running, you can start using it by clicking on the SEEK... button. A dialog will appear. You can then select where you want to search for files. When you're done selecting press the SEARCH button. The ADD FILE Main screen reappears and a list of files is added. You should now see that the ADD and DESCRIBE buttons are available. If you're ready to add files, click some in the list, if you are not ready and want to get more information, click the describe. REMEMBER: Describe can only read information from DLL, VBX, and EXE type files. Click the ADD Button! You can see the files get added to your project. If this doesn't happen, then there is one of two things wrong. 1. You don't have VB open for design, or 2. VB ADD FILE is broken! If ADD FILE is broken, please contact me via the information descibed in the README.TXT file. That's It! That's what it does, and I think you'll like this a lot more than going in and out of the ADD FILE menu option. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS! --------------------- Please contact me right away. I am really interested in your ideas and I want to improve this product in any way possible. Your ideas count! Please keep in mind that this is a part-time thing for me, so I'm only going to be able to work on the program during the evenings and weekends. I will try to take eveyones ideas and will probably handle the most often requested ones first, though all ideas are welcome! Also keep in mind that this is an early release of this program. I have used it while creating problems and have updated things to my liking. I want everyone who uses it to be satisfied. Please mail with questions or problems. Thanks! For mail information, please see the README.TXT file.
